Bethnal Green Family House (2018)

The brief for this project was to create an open-plan space with an industrial touch on a moderate budget. Initially, the property was very dark with some very small rooms. We opened up the whole space, creating an internal skylight allowing the space to flooded in lots natural light. We designed and installed a crittall wall using an oxidised black steel with slim profiles to contrast against the natural look of the ply and to give the property a refined industrial feel. To balance that we proposed a light open-plan kitchen with joinery running along the whole wall, which doubles up as a separator between the kitchen space and the staircase. For the bathroom, we proposed a micro concrete as the main material for the floors and walls to create contemporary and modern design.
